With the COMe-cBTi6R Computer-on-Modules Kontron and ies expand their existing Intel SoC based COM Express® portfolio with a variant that is equally compact and powerful. It has been designed to meet the extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is therefore predestined for demanding customer applications.
Due to the robust design of the COMe-cBTi6R modules they are particularly suitable where shock- and vibration-resistance are required. In addition to the soldered memory that provides either up to 4GB DDR3L with ECC or up to 8GB DDR3L without ECC, the rugged version of the COMe-cBTi6 module with Kontron Rapid Shutdown Supported provides an extremely fast shut-down of the entire system and thus helps in reducing the risk of data- or system abuse. Especially applications relevant to security rely on such features to protect sensitive data as good as possible.
In addition to the CPUs of the E3800 series customers can also get more cost-effective Intel Celeron variants. Furthermore, both versions offer a wide range of interfaces to connect peripherals such as USB 3.0, USB OTG, USB 2.0 or PCIe x1/x2/x4. Operating systems and applications can be loaded either via on-board eMMC Flash or SATA interfaces. Overall, the new COM Express® compact family is characterized by excellent scalability and variance: 16 different assembly variants are a captivating indication. Hence the range of applications is virtually unlimited.
Regardless of which modules the compact COMe-cBTi6 family profits from excellent Gen7 Intel HD graphics. The output video signals are either 18/24-bit LVDS or DisplayPort++ with DP, HDMI or DVI connections.
