The Kontron COM Express compact type 6 module COMe-cTH6 is based on dual core and quad core AMD embedded R-series accelerated processing units with up to 2.0 GHz and outstanding graphics performance. It enables cost-efficient development of graphic-intense small form factor applications.
Featuring powerful graphics and high performance in parallel data processing at low thermal design power (TDP) of just 26 watts, the Kontron COMe-cTH6 is an attractive and cost-efficient alternative. Thanks to the Radeon™ HD 7000 series and graphics engine integrated into the AMD R series, this new module provides outstanding graphics performance and supports DirectX® 11 and OpenCL™.
The modular design of COMe-cTH6 allows for the development of graphic-intense applications based on AMD R series APU and AMD M3 Fusion Controller Hub (FCH), both of which represent established and future-proof industrial standards based on COM Express® type 6 pin-out.
The AMD processor on the Kontron COMe-cTH6 module has two integrated memory controllers for up to GByte (2x4GB) DDR3 memory. State of the art 3D graphics is supported through the integrated Radeon™ graphics controller which offers four independent display interfaces which are designed for daisy chaining and offer maximum resolution of 2560 x 1600 x 60 Hz (DisplayPort) or 1920 x 1200 x 60 Hz (HDMI / DVI). Featuring seven PCI express x1 lanes and 8 PEG lanes for flexible configuration, the COMe-cTH6 module is ideally suited for multi interface designs at low power consumption. All those characteristics make this compact computer-on-module a key solution for applications in multimedia, digital signage, infotainment, kiosk, POS/POI devices, panel PCs and professional gaming solutions requiring high-level graphics performance and support for the latest APIs such as DirectX 11 and benefitting from low thermal performance.
The COMe-cTH6 module is a full module-sized PC with standard interfaces such as USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, gigabit ethernet, SATA 3.0 plus additional features like high-definition audio (HDA) and ACPI 3.0, Fast I2C, SPI, LPC, RTC, 2x serial interfaces (RX, TX) and S5 Eco.
